Annie Who?
Today I met and photographed Annie Liebovitz. I couldn’t believe it when I got the commission. How exactly does one do that? I was a little on edge when I met this woman I respect so much, but she was gracious and warm, and put me right at ease. As soon as I introduced myself formally, with both first and last name, she smiled and said “so what are we doin’, Sammy?” What a charmer! And after shooting her for about a minute, she asked if she was doing what I needed. I dropped my camera down, looked at her deadpan and asked “How does one direct Annie Liebovitz?” She laughed, I shot, and after a few minutes more I told her I was a fan and thanked her for her time. What a day!
